Next up we held St Pete's very first outdoor live art auction. It was an amazing evening and every single piece sold, and most selling for far over their reserve price. Cherie from Cherie's Eklectika was our auctioneer and she was brilliant. This event was near and dear to my heart. In 2001 when I was living in Boston, I met a group of artists and helped create an organization known as By Local. We held massive events in private homes where we would hang art throughout the house, then at the end of the evening auction each piece off. By Local was wildly successful and as we grew I would help locate new artists. This was how I found Chad Mize and brought him into the fold at By Local. The Artillery Auction recreated the magic of By Local and was really perfect in every way.
